One of the challenges of modern dating is figuring out what we really want. Is it love? Marriage? Companionship? Sex? Everyone has different priorities, and when we disguise them, we create a maelstrom of mixed signals and wasted effort.

At the same time, if we dig in our heels and declare exactly what we think we want, we also risk missing out on other fulfilling interactions. If we’re dead set on finding the loves of our lives and we put all of our time and energy into that quest, it’s easy to miss chances for things like new friendships, career opportunities, or to discover more about who we really are and what we really need.

When’s the last time a chance encounter changed your life?

As our community members know, we like to switch things up at Dystopian Dating; sometimes our events focus on singles, and sometimes they don’t. Most of the time, it doesn’t matter what your relationship status is, because at the end of the day we’re all dealing with the same emotions, anxieties, and human needs. Regardless of your relationship status, meeting someone new is a great way to spend a Friday night on the town, and that’s why New Encounters, without Expectations is the theme for the next edition of Dystopian Dating.
